ABC4E is a project under the ATTRACT Socioeconomic Studies which focuses on training researchers to better collaborate with colleagues from different disciplines and organisations, developing their psychological flexibility and empowering knowledge exchange in open innovation processes.
This project aims to overcome scientists’ individual barriers to interdisciplinary, inter-functional and inter-organizational collaboration.
“Researchers are the most trained people ever within their discipline, and the literature tells us that we are exposed to so many biases as we work with other colleagues. The problem is that no one has ever taught us how to manage them by working on ourselves, not only because it is a delicate process but also because few methodologies allow us to do so. And we are experimenting with one of these”, explains Clio Dosi, coordinator of the ABC4E project and Principal Investigator at the University of Bologna.
Training course for researchers within the ATTRACT ecosystem
As a part of this study, the ABC4E team is organising a two-day training course that will be held in Bologna from 10-11 October 2023 and it is aimed at researchers that are involved in any of the ATTRACT R&D&I projects: coordinators, partners of the project, universities, companies, research centres, etc., who are willing to improve their collaboration performance and reduce the related frustrations.
During this event, researchers will participate in interactive workshops with group discussions as well as practical individual exercises like mindfulness and many others, that will help them to boost their collaboration and knowledge capabilities.
It should be noted that ABC4E, which stands for “ATTRACT Behavioral Change 4 ERI scientists”, is a project run by the University of Bologna in partnership with the Kore University of Enna.
