Description
In today’s forestry industry, timber inspection often relies on visual assessments, which can vary in effectiveness. This project, in collaboration with H-cube, focuses on developing a Terahertz (THz) Hyperspectral camera to enhance reliability and efficiency. The device captures detailed images using the terahertz range, providing information not visible with regular cameras. We aimed to find a feasible market application for this technology and developed a forestry scanner tool. Attached to forestry harvesters, it scans trees, collects data, and sorts harvested material by quality. Initial testing shows promising results, indicating potential for revolutionizing timber management and supporting sustainable forestry.
