Description

Cancer care is not equal for someone who lives in rural Spain compared to an urban centre. Overall, cancer death rates are declining at a slower rate in rural areas. This is due to several issues like insufficient resources in hospitals and a lack of hospitals that can provide adequate cancer care. With Lumo, our objective is to provide a small device that detects beta and gamma rays that can act as a complement to the PET scan, so that a patient who is currently or has undergone cancer treatment can quickly get access to an imaging scan – reducing the time to detect a change in a patient’s cancer and in turn improving their health outcomes.
