Description

Filter2Less is an intelligent filter which leverages Glassomer technology, tackling microplastic pollution. Research interviews and brainstorming led to the idea of creating a transparent, recyclable, and measurable filter to raise awareness. Glassomer’s unique glass-shaping properties allowed for 3D printing and mold injection. The filters exhibit chemically neutral, thermally resistant, and recyclable features, making them suitable for water and air filtration. The application of Glassomer technology can significantly reduce microplastic pollution from textiles. Challenges in implementing the technology are multiple, from design to business execution, while its potential impact on the environment is highlighted in the report. We demonstrate how our solution emphasizes filtration for households and small laundromats for real, everyday sensing and awareness of microplastics pollution.
