Description

Chemical process plants currently measure what goes into and out of key process units, which flaunt steel walls that hide internal structures from direct observation and contain colourless gases that flow through piping structures. Through Pipe 4.0 the detection of gas mixture compositions is made possible through the novel configuration of well-established laser and sensing technologies, as to allow for a reliable and compact form of monitoring. Process-eye integrates Pipe 4.0 into a proactive monitoring framework that facilitates model validation and controls from parameters within the units, without sampling. By connecting Process-eye to control valves, at key stages, chemical engineers would be able to characterise in real-time the composition at the bypass level, with more abundant data samples created at a faster sensing rate (every 10s) than current gas sensing technologies. More data, within, more knowledge, more power.
