Rising temperatures due to climate change threaten agriculture, a key economic sector for many countries. According to the FAO, over 873 million people worked in agriculture in 2021, about one-third of the global workforce. Our research focuses on farmworkers, who face risks like dehydration, heat strain, inappropriate clothing, and heavy workloads in hot environments. To address these issues, we developed a garment that cools the body while working. Inspired by the efficient pathfinding of Physarum polycephalum, we designed the structure using biomimicry. The garment, created with 3D printing, includes a nano-tech ventilation system to help maintain a comfortable body temperature for farm workers.
