Description
The purpose of this project was to redesign beekeeping to meet common problems found during the Swedish winter. Two main problems were identified, first is fluctuating outside temperatures that forces the bee colony to frequently adopt the cluster to maintain optimal inhive temperatures. The second problem is connected to the beekeepers and how they are forced to perform non-ergonomic lifting during honey harvest. Two prototypes where produced, one in the form of a down scaled beehive where the thermoregulation system was placed within the walls of the beehive. And a second one in the form of a dividable box to meet the ergonomic specifications of the treasure box.
